Experts.MD does not broker the engagement between the Expert and the Attorney. If an attorney is willing to pay a 30%-50% hourly mark-up on your fees when hiring you through a broker, direct negotiation with the attorney will be profitable to both parties.

Expert Witnesses are well compensated for their services. Typical fees range from $400-$2,000/hour to $5,000-$15,000/day, depending on the specialty and complexity of the issues.
Medical specialties, especially surgical subspecialties, tend to command the highest rates due to scarcity of qualified practitioners and high opportunity costs.
Intellectually Stimulating
The role of the Expert Witness is very intellectually demanding. Not only must the Expert Witness analyze complex techincial and factual issues, review documents, conduct research, form legally sound opnions, and write detailed reports, the Expert Witness must also navigate an adversarial environment, which requires excellent personal and professional comminication skills.
